Fountain Art - Jennifer Lego

For my Public Art Project, I chose to beautify this large and empty space on campus. To offer students a place to reflect, relax and unwind in between classes, I would love to see a fountain in this space. Because we are a coastal community, I took my inspiration from the marine life artist Wyland. Not only does he create beautiful marine life art in multiple mediums, he has also transformed many public spaces all over the world with his 100 Whaling Walls. It is my vision, that a piece like this would not only bring tranquility to the campus, but also serve as a reminder to those who enjoyed its peacefulness, to be an advocate for helping preserve our local beaches and marine life. If a project like this were to come to life, I think it would be ideal to partner with one of the local organizations that protect our beaches like the Surfrider Foundation to promote this awareness. -Jennifer Lego
