Music in Motion - Rebecca Broberg

I believe this artwork is a good choice for this area because it blends the joy and feeling of music with interesting and colorful art to provide a stunning improvement to the art and music building. I believe the flow and emotion of music is very much like the waves of the ocean, and that the notes weaving through the waves and sky help capture the inner beauty of music.

This artwork is just as easily enjoyed from close up as from a distance. In the detailed picture, you can see from another angle that the musical score follows the flow of the staircase and can be easily admired by students as they climb.

In researching for this project I enjoyed looking at Barbara Kruger's mural in the Stuart Collection. I enjoyed how she mixed words and images to promote the mood she was looking for, but decided music would be more powerful than words in my project.

  6. Nice colors and choice of wall. The way you placed your art (or at least given the angle of the picture) helps add "depth" and highlights your work. Looks a bit like your previous work and in both case you can see that (a story is being told).
