Healthy Body Healthy Mind-Simon Kaiser
I often saw Allen's talking trees, Irwin's V Forms and work from other artists in the Stuart Collection while visiting and exploring the UCSD campus when I was a teenager. I was happy to see that they have gotten recognition for their contribution to the campus. For the site of my public art piece I chose the Health classroom, which also serves as the Communication classroom at the San Elijo campus. I tried to put emphasis on the importance of satisfying the basic food groups, to help remind students of the importance of emotional and physical wellness. I think this piece of art goes well with the department of the school where it is located.-Simon Kaiser
